David Brunone
President
Dragonfly Solutions, LLC
Dragonfly Solutions was founded in 2023 by David Brunone with the goal of providing exceptional managerial solutions within highly complex engineering environments.
David started his career after Engineering school as a Nuclear Operations Engineer at the Knolls Atomic Power Laboratory, qualifying alongside Naval officers to become a supervisor at a prototype land-based Naval nuclear power plant. Here, David gained a broad expertise in mechanical, electrical, nuclear, chemical, and thermal engineering while learning the fundamentals of leadership and operations management of a joint DoD/DoE facility.
In 2013, David joined NASA’s Goddard Space Flight Center as a contractor, managing various operations and engineering functions within Goddard’s Integration & Test Facility. Engineering teams under his management were instrumental in the assembly and environmental testing of dozens of NASA satellites, including the famous James Webb Space Telescope. David was directly influential in pursuing effective solutions to some of NASA’s most difficult problems within his functional areas, including test facility engineering and upgrade processes, spacecraft handling, maintenance programs, welding programs, nondestructive testing, pressure system certification, and many more.
In 2021, David was selected as the Project Manager for contractor support to NASA’s Exploration and In-Space Services (NExIS) division, overseeing a team of 300+ highly skilled engineers dedicated to development of robotic technologies for space applications. This included NASA’s OSAM-1 mission, which is designed to demonstrate robotically-controlled on-orbit refueling of a client satellite.
Dragonfly Solutions draws from this synergy of extensive contract managerial experience and broad engineering expertise, along with our expansive network of resources, to do what we love to do — tackle difficult problems in a way that resonates with engineers and managers alike.
David holds a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from Georgia Tech, a Master’s of Business Administration from Indiana University, and is certified as both a Project Management Professional and a Certified Maintenance and Reliability Professional.
Dragonfly Solutions, LLC is registered and eligible for all federal contracting opportunities, both direct-award and subcontract, including those requiring Joint Certification Program registration.
